Wassim M. Haddad is the Co-Founder, Chairman of the Board, and Chief Scientific Advisor of AreteX Systems. From August 2012 to June 2015 he served as the President and Chief Executive Officer of AreteX Systems.

Professor Haddad is the David Lewis Professor of Dynamical Systems and Control at the School of Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech. He received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering from Florida Tech in 1983, 1984, and 1987, respectively. In 1988 he joined the faculty of the Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering Department at Florida Tech. Since 1994 he has been with the School of Aerospace Engineering at Georgia Tech, where he holds the rank of Professor, the David Lewis Chair in Dynamical Systems and Control, and serves as Chair of the Flight Mechanics and Control Discipline. Dr. Haddad also holds a joint Professor appointment with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Georgia Tech. 

Dr. Haddad's interdisciplinary research contributions in systems and control are documented in over 580 archival journal and conference publications, and 7 books in the areas of science, mathematics, medicine, and engineering. His research is on nonlinear robust and adaptive control; nonlinear systems; large-scale systems; hierarchical control; impulsive and hybrid systems; system thermodynamics; network systems; system biology; mathematical neuroscience; and clinical pharmacology, pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic modeling, clinical decision support, and active drug dosing control. His secondary interests include the history of science and mathematics, as well as natural philosophy.

Dr. Haddad is an NSF Presidential Faculty Fellow in recognition for his demonstrated excellence and continued promise in scientific and engineering research; a member of the Academy of Nonlinear Sciences for contributions to nonlinear stability theory, dynamical systems, and control; an IEEE Fellow for contributions to robust, nonlinear, and hybrid control systems; and the recipient of the 2014 AIAA Pendray Aerospace Literature Award for paramount and fundamental contributions to the literature of dynamical systems and control for large-scale systems. Dr. Haddad has received numerous outstanding research scholar awards including an Outstanding Alumni Achievement Award for his contributions to nonlinear dynamical systems and control, and recognition for outstanding contributions to joint university and industry programs.

Behnood Gholami is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of AreteX Systems. He served as the Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of AreteX Systems from 2013-2015. 

Prior to co-founding the company, Dr. Gholami was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, and an Associated Researcher at the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, Cambridge, MA from 2011-2012, where he developed machine learning algorithms for analyzing high-dimensional data. 

He received the B.Sc. and M.A.Sc. degrees in mechanical engineering from the University of Tehran, Tehran, Iran, and Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, in 2003 and 2005, respectively. He received the M.S. degrees in mathematics and aerospace engineering, and the Ph.D. degree in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech, Atlanta, GA in 2009 and 2010, respectively. Dr. Gholami was a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Schools of Electrical & Computer and Biomedical Engineering, Georgia Tech from 2010-2011 where he served as the lead researcher for a National Alliance for Medical Image Computing (NA-MIC) project funded by the National Institutes of Health.

Dr. Gholami’s interdisciplinary research contributions are documented in over 20 archival journal and conference publications. He was a recipient of the Concordia University Graduate Fellowship and a Power Corporation of Canada Graduate Fellowship.

James M. Bailey is the Chief Medical Officer of AreteX Systems and the Medical Director of Critical Care Medicine at the Northeast Georgia Physicians Group.

Dr. Bailey served as the Chief Medical Informatics Officer of Northeast Georgia Health System, and Chief Quality Officer of Northeast Georgia Medical Center. He was the Co-Director of the North Georgia Critical Care Collaborative, which involved a joint effort between a number of hospitals to improve the delivery of critical care in the North Georgia region. This collaborative was awarded a $10.7 million Health Care Innovations Award from the Federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

He received the B.S. degree from Davidson College, Davidson, NC, in 1969, the Ph.D. degree in chemistry (physical) from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in 1973, and the M.D. degree from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine, Springfield, IL in 1982. He was a Helen Hay Whitney Fellow at the California Institute of Technology, Pasadena, from 1973 to 1975, and an Assistant Professor of chemistry and biochemistry at Southern Illinois University from 1975 to 1979. After receiving the M.D. degree, he completed a residency in anesthesiology and then a fellowship in cardiac anesthesiology at the Emory University School of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals, Atlanta, GA. From 1986 to 2002, he was an Assistant Professor of anesthesiology and then Associate Professor of anesthesiology at the Emory University School of Medicine Affiliated Hospitals, where he also served as a Director of Critical Care Service. In September 2002, he moved his clinical practice to Northeast Georgia Medical Center, Gainesville, as a Director of Cardiac Anesthesia and Consultant in critical care medicine. 

Dr. Bailey is board certified in anesthesiology, critical care medicine, and transesophageal echocardiography. He is the author or co-author of over 100 journal articles, conference publications, and book chapters. His current research interests include pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic modeling of anesthetic and vasoactive drugs and applications of dynamical system theory in medicine.
